AI Policy

Artificial intelligence (AI) is an exciting emerging technology, but like any powerful tool it must be used responsibly. We wanted to let you know our stance on it.

We don’t currently use AI in Educake

Educake doesn’t use AI at the moment. That means AI isn’t writing, choosing, or marking our questions. We do use some complex algorithms to analyse results and power the Revision wizard, but these use maths and logic that we have control over and visibility of. Everything in Educake has been made by people.

If we start using AI, we’ll tell you

We are currently looking into some ways AI might enhance what we offer schools. If we decide to use AI, we’ll get teacher input, we’ll tell you about it, and we’ll clearly signpost it. We’ll also follow DfE guidance on the safe and responsible use of generative AI in schools.

We’ll help you monitor for AI misuse

We’re very familiar with the curiosity and creativity of young people, which means we’re aware of the rapidly evolving uses of AI that students are discovering. We’re monitoring for signs of students using or trying to use AI to do work in Educake, and we’ll alert your school as soon as possible if we see any.

We’re here to support you

If you have any questions about how Educake, your school, your students, or you are using AI, please get in touch on support@educake.co.uk.
